Our Pastor

Dr. Bartholomew M. Riggins

Rev. Dr. Bartholomew M. Riggins is currently in his eleventh year of ministry service as senior pastor of the Faith Chapel Church of God, Baton Rouge, Louisiana, having begun his tenure in July, 2011. Prior to his current pastoral role, he served as senior pastor of the Light of the World Community Church of God, Shreveport, La for nearly fourteen years.  


“Pastor Bart”, as known to the Faith Chapel Church, and his wife First Lady Joy Foggs-Riggins celebrates over twenty-five years of marriage as they were married July 1994 and to their union they have two sons, Joshua and Titus.

Pastor Bart completed his earned Doctor of Ministry Studies (DMin.) degree in the spring of 2015 from Anderson University, School of Theology, Anderson, IN. He also has a Masters of Divinity (1995) from Anderson University, School of Theology, Anderson, IN and a Bachelor’s of Science(1991) in Management Information Systems and Business Administration from Louisiana Tech University, Ruston, La.  


Pastor Bart although now serving as a full-time pastor since 2011, has worked bi-vocationally in the technology departments for Louisiana State University in Shreveport, the former George S. Olive CPA firm and the former Burlington Motor Carriers.  


Pastor Bart currently serves in the following roles for church and community:

 

  • Board Member for the National Board of Servant Solutions, Church of God-Anderson, In pension ministry

  • Board Member for Warner University, Lake Wales, FL

  • Chairperson of Louisiana Congregational Ministries of the Church of God Credentials Ministry Team

  • Vice lead coach for SHAPE, Sustaining Health and Pastoral Excellence for the Church of God in Louisiana

  • Southeast Louisiana District Pastor for Louisiana Congregational Ministries of the Church of God 

  • Member of Ministries Council for Louisiana Congregational Ministries of the Church of God

  • Stakeholder pastor for the Gardere Initiative in East Baton Rouge Parish and the greater Baton Rouge area

  • Board Member for Connections Ministry in Baton Rouge, LA

  • Board Member for the Ministry Retreat Center of the Church of God in the state of Louisiana 

  • Advisory Board Member for I-CARE Schools Intervention Program for Drugs, Alcohol and Violence, East Baton Rouge Parish, Louisiana


Pastor Bart’s most valued mandates for life and ministry are the following: 

 

  • Faith (Relationship with God and Honoring God’s Written Word Through Jesus Christ by the Power of the Holy Spirit)

  • Family(Cherishing, modeling(living) and teaching Biblical Family Life)

  • People(Loving People, godly people and people who do not know God through Jesus)
